Dean Powell has enjoyed a lengthy career as an award-winning journalist for both newspaper, radio and television.

One of the top three candidates for the National Council of Training of Journalists in the UK, Dean was also the recipient of a prestigious BT Press Award.

At the age of 28, Dean was appointed the editor of his own weekly newspaper title, becoming the youngest in Wales.

For the next five years he developed the newspaper's content, style and quality, making it one of the top ten fastest growing titles in the UK. 

Dean later became a senior reporter with the national broadsheet, the Western Mail where he excelled as a local government correspondent and was later appointed Literary Editor.

For several years Dean worked in a freelance capacity for both BBC and ITV Wales.

Dean later ran the news room at a local radio station in South Wales before joining the news team at BBC Radio Wales where he worked on their flagship news programmes Good Morning Wales and Good Evening Wales.

Following several years as a Media Advisor for a local authority in Wales, he became Editorial Manager of a media-relations agency. Dean is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations
